Budget Travel Tips For Vacation Travelers

Budget travel is getting more and more common these days. The global crisis have made people want to have fun and experience things out of their sad crisis laden world. The best part is that one does not have to spend so much to be able to experience a decent vacation or break from the tedium that is reality.

Hotel Tips

Cheap vacation travel is usually all about where one will stay. Many hotels have promotional packages or holiday packages that slash of their prices in exchange for some promotion or other which makes budget travel all the more juicy. Some hotel chains let guests pay discounted prices with a condition that the guests attend a promotional seminar which usually just lasts a little over an hour. The rest of the stay, usually three days starting on the weekend, can be devoted to sightseeing and what the guests want to do. Some hotels also offer promotional packages for groups of four or five. Extra beds may suffice instead of getting another room.

Another budget travel tip is to remove the free breakfast option and opt to get breakfast outside of the hotel. For those who are really going all out for budget travel, Styrofoam cups of noodles can be breakfast, bought outside, the night before and then filled with water that has been heated in the electric thermos usually provided by the hotel. Coffee or tea is almost always provided free by the hotel as well. Lunch and dinner can also be taken outside of the hotel since most hotels in Asia are more expensive than the average diner or fast food in the area. Budget travel suggestions for lunch and dinner is to have it in a fast food joint which one is familiar with such as McDonalds or Burger King. This not only saves a few extra bucks but also helps to avoid an upset stomach from eating unfamiliar foods.

Other budget travel ideas that can help are walking a short distance to anyplace or taking public transportation of necessary. Some cities of countries have tourist attractions and sights which are just a few meters away. Consulting a map or a local regarding how far the attraction may be can save on taxi or bus fare if it is near enough to walk to.

These budget travel tips and suggestions can help make the vacation all the more enjoyable when one thinks of all the money that is saved by following the budget travel tips.

Germany’s Black Forest hides many delightful secrets amid its thick foliage. In this land of fairytales and half-timbered houses lies a little glass factory, practicing the methods of a time long past. Located in the town of Wolfach, the Dorotheenhütte Glass Museum brings the traditions of yesterday alive for today’s visitors.  Proudly known as the ‘Black Forest’s only hand-blown glass factory’, Dorotheenhütte walks its guests through 2,000 years of glass history. The museum section of the complex shows how the art of glass-making has evolved over the years as well as displays tool and mold artifacts from long ago. Masters can be observed creating and grinding delicate crystal stemware by hand – each cut a carefully calculated combination of angle and pressure.  Dorotheenhütte also gives their visitors the opportunity to try their hand at glass blowing – fascinating and fun when considering one rarely gets the invitation to ‘touch’ and ‘try it out’ when fragile objects are concerned….
